ABOUT BOOK FOLD ART
1. BOOK FOLDING

This format creates words, patterns or designs from the book’s own pages.
Each design requires a pattern that has been created to fit the particular book’s size and pages number. The folding takes around 4 to 5 hours. You are welcome to buy folded books as advertised, or to commission a specific design. For best results, words should be up to 6 letters. Please contact me with your commission request. Please allow up to 4 weeks for completion and delivery. Prices depend on complexity of design and the book required to complete the design. |

3. KEYPAD NAMES

Looking for something simple that has a hidden message?
This design uses folds to create dots that represent numbers, the numbers that would be made if you typed your name on a keypad. You will know the secret to the dots, will anyone else? In the photo, the numbers are 4-4-5-2-7-9, which is my name Hilary if typed on a keypad. For best results, names should be up to 8 letters. Creating book folds to create a keypad name takes around 2 to 3 hours. Please contact me with your commission request. Please allow up to 4 weeks for completion and delivery. Prices depend on complexity of design and the book required to complete the design. |

4. pet portraits

Immortalise your beloved pet in the pages of a book!
This form of book folding is know as Shadow Folding. Alternate pages are cut and folded to create a shadow between pages. The image is created from the shadow. First an outline is created from your pet's photo. The outline is copied onto the pages of the book and the pages are cut and folded in accordance with the outline. For best results, the photos should be of portrait orientation. Creating a pet portrait from shadow folding takes around 3 to 4 hours. Please contact me with your commission request. Please allow up to 6 weeks for completion and delivery. Prices depend on complexity of design and the book required to complete the design. |

Whilst it is not possible to guarantee specific authors or book titles, I will endeavour
to find appropriate books for each design.
Hardback books are needed for book folding, cut and fold and pet portraits (shadow fold).
They are preferred for keypad names but some paperback books may be used.
The books are intended as artworks and, depending on the art style, may not be intended to be read.
Books for children are not for those under 36 months of age.
For custom created book art, please allow up to 4 weeks from placing your order to it being ready for shipping.
For pet portraits, please allow up to 6 weeks.
